I am currently a Lecturer in the Department of Government at Harvard University. I received my Ph.D in Politics from Princeton University in 2014. Between 2014 and 2018, I was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My research focuses on the politics of authoritarian regimes, with a regional focus on Central Asia and the broader post-Soviet region. I also do work on leaders and leadership in comparative perspective. Please see my research page for details about my past and ongoing projects.
